Text Manager - Proof of Concept

I’ve been working on a text manager library for a while now, and I think I am at a point where I will begin integrating this into my existing games, as well as in any new game development projects. This should be a good test on my end.

If anyone is interested, I created a small proof of concept video that shows what my library can do at this time…

The demo shows the features of the library, demonstrates some basic animation, and finally, a teletype effect.

Some features:

Library manages multiple bitmapped fonts

Text can be created, changed, and resized

Left/right/center alignment

X and Y anchors

Multi-line text

Multiple bitmap fonts can be loaded and used

Text can be animated as a whole or as individual characters

While working on my library and proof of concept demo, I thought that this may be something that others may have an interest in as a possible release in the Corona Marketplace.  I am looking for your comments on whether there is any interest as a released product and what the price point should be. If I do, there’s obviously some more work to do such as documentation, inclusion of more features, more testing, more demos, and naturally, support.

Let me know what you think, or of you have any questions.

thanks.

I think it looks good.  I have created a very limited text manager for my use, but it is crude and very limited.  Always hoped to get back to it one day and expand it a bit. But yours looks very good, animations and all.  Good luck with it, I think it is a good endeavor.

Not sure what I would pay for it. But if it is reasonable I would buy it for the tele-type feature.

Thanks for your comments.
