What does your work area look like?

Quick, somebody get Danny the raw image link!
Here’s my desk, and the game I’m working on. When not in use I keep the laptop slotted right down below.

Anyone else love the magic trackpad at the left hand?
@RSC, I’m with you. Worked for the years off just my 13" Macbook and was able to create some really successful software with it. And I still sync all of my projects to it so I can take it with me when I’m out of town hah. [import]uid: 87138 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 93709[/import]

@Revaerie: Nice & Clean Setup!

But Yes man, having a MBP is really nice - powerful machine with a small size - amazing! By the way my MPB is 13" too.

Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 93710[/import]

@Peach yeah it’s not a fun journey trying to travel with your iMac. I was in Italy when I purchased my first iMac and it made it’s way back to the states unscratched, but I’ll never do that again! [import]uid: 54776 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 93781[/import]

@Bruce, very clean & BRIGHT setup!
PS: it looks like very relax place!
Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 94099[/import]

Love how bright it looks; I work in a dark, dark environment. (Old house, lot of busted lights.)

What is Textpad on PC? Is that for coding or just text? (I’m sorry, I don’t really remember Windows any more ;)) [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 94215[/import]

@Bruce: A stand-up desk is a great idea! Sitting all day just doesn’t help my back anymore. :slight_smile: [import]uid: 44127 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 94437[/import]

Cool…

All day, All night…

@TheReakTonyK I like your set up looks really nice. What keyboard are you using? I just have the basic M-Audio 61es with Logic Studio but it still does a decent job. [import]uid: 54776 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 94452[/import]

@Richard P. Thanks! Some nice look’in dev caves in this thread! The synth visible in this shot is a Fantom G6. I must admit that I use an Akai MPK25 controller with Alchemy more often though! lol! Hope it becomes my REAL office one day…
I dream of getting up, with the sun not before it, grabbing my iPad and some Full Throttle, enjoy the morning air and a little web, then heading into the cave for some serious game making… [import]uid: 21331 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 94457[/import]

I see the Warcraft Lich King book - still play Tony? I kind of chucked it right after WotLK, there was no way I was leveling everyone up to 85  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 94676[/import]

Hey Peach! Ya, It’s a big promo display box, I love collecting that stuff…ran out of room though…lol.

Same here, I picked up Cata, but maybe put in 10 hours. Have been just too busy to play anymore… sometimes miss it…addicting game , that one! [import]uid: 21331 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 94770[/import]

I sometimes miss it too - or I did until recently.

I saw the presentation for the new expansion … It’s basically just going to be Pokemon. (Have you seen it? I laughed every time a dot point was revealed, then proceeded to yell things like “Gotta catch 'em all!”)

Anyway - yeah - beyond that the size must be over 35GB now. Ugh.

I’d rather work and make apps and write tutorials than spend however many hours it takes to get to 100, or whatever the next cap is going to be  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 95034[/import]

Ya, when I saw it i thought it was some new Blizzard marketing gag…unreal…and unwanted.

I’ve been coding since I was 10 on the TRS-80 and Vic20 and all that did was score me a career as a developer (bor-ing). Corona has finally made it so I can continue the original adventure without coming home from VB/AS/C/C#, etc just to grind on ObjC all night. I am actually enjoying the creation process, and finally releasing my work for sale… I’m hooked. It is also giving me time to enter the Mac World slowly…although looking at Richard and your iMac 27" I want to move faster!!

Alright, enough thread hi-jacking :), I will be running some things by you soon through techority, let’s see if we can boost the ice cream intake!

Great stuff - yes, will stop steering this Off Topic, (although it’s in the right section for that at least,) and wish you luck on moving into the world of Mac.

I’ve seen so many “hardcore” PC users swear they’d never switch, it seems to happen once they get a little exposure, though  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 95140[/import]

Oh right, I just checked where this thread was. I’m such a social noob…(current speak for misfit i think

Keep the pics comm’in peeps! I love seeing other dev caves! Now, I know I have a window around here somewhere… [import]uid: 21331 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 95148[/import]

I dont have a definite work area since my table is pretty much movable, it has wheels on it that i just lock whenever i have the perfect spot, sometimes i set it up in the living room, but most of the time i set it up in the veranda near the garden because that is where i can really relax while a am working in that way i can do more more and i am more efficient. [import]uid: 138723 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 97796[/import]

I haz new work area!!!

Left to Right:

Photo Frame, Kindle Fire, new Ipad, MacBook Pro + 19" archaic flat panel, iPhone 4, 1TB drive, Dell Latitude D610 running Ubuntu, Old HP Multi-function printer, old TV with Linksys Hub cabled to my AT&T Uverse TV box. [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 103615[/import]

Very nice; how new is it? I can imagine that powerboard may become a tangled mess the more you get to plug in  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 103678[/import]

Kind of a long story. My 21 year old is a high caliber ice hockey player. He played this last season in Wyoming but is home for the summer before he heads out to collage in Oklahoma. We turned our living room, which never gets used for anything into a temporary bedroom for him. But there is no door and he wants a little more privacy.

Our bonus room or frog (Family Room over Garage) had been our office and my wife’s scrapbooking center, but over the years it’s become a junk room. So last week we decided to clean it out enough to make it into a functioning bedroom which a) freed up the living room and b) got me the desk furniture needed, so yesterday we setup up all the computer bits.

As for the power, I have another power strip that’s hiding behind the lamp that I plan to use for plugging in temporary things, like charging the iPad or the Kindle so hopefully I won’t be messing with the bulk of the wireing.

Haha I love the old tv rob!

You guys have some insane setups. Right now all I have is a laptop with ubuntu and windows OS on it, dont have a single phone to test things on. Peach your desk makes me want to cry lol, so much machinery. Lets switch places, you can move to L.A.

Anyway not mine but my brother wants to order 5 monitors to do something like this [import]uid: 77199 topic_id: 23235 reply_id: 103721[/import]
