When Is Revmob Sdk For Corona Going To Support The Latest Build

Ok and tell me why there is new company that is doing payments via paypal ? Revmob is going public or something ?

There is no technical explanation why the hell this is not working now in the middle of May 2013 … and telling us that those installs are not lost is just … playing stupid.

@Bladko

5.2.0 is working properly

@aukStudios

  • Installs generated by CPC campaigns are not counted on our Dashboard.

Bear in mind previously installed and deleted games will not be counted as downloads.

Please email me at jan@revmob.com with your email login and App id so I can investigate it further.

Thanks,

Jan

@Bladko

Payoneer our new payment partner managed to deliver lower fees for our PayPal users and new payment options.

Thanks,

Hey everyone. For those of you having issues with iOS installs not registering, try creating a new app in the revmob dashboard. I did this today and now i’m seeing some installs on iOS. Maybe the issue has something to do with older app ids.

Note that if you get 0.02$ it is probably due to house app installed. if RevMob doesn’t have a campaign to show in your geo or due to budget limit, they will show a house app (ant crusher or something similar), which they own. for these, they pay only 0.02$ to us.

@jan75

That’s good to know that installs from CPC campaigns aren’t shown in the dashboard.  Thanks for being willing to investigate further, I’ll email you with my details.

@Tomas_Aboites

That’s an interesting observation, I’ll give that a try myself.

@rune7

I don’t think it was a house app.  I’m aware that RevMob is an offshoot of Best Cool & Fun Free Games, but the advertised apps weren’t for any of their games.

Hi, I am using Revmob 5.2.1 with Corona build 1105, the app is already submitted to the app store for review.

Is it confirmed this won’t report the installs properly??

I am not sure should I reject the binary or not…

Ok guys

My app just went live… so collecting data and will report my findings.

This is not a “plug my app opportunity”… but if any of you want to download it

https://itunes.apple.com/app/words-shapes/id635451589?mt=8

… and PM your RevMob experience such as country, clicks and installs… then it might help me analyse the data somewhat. Cause at the moment… I have impression, clicks… but no installs

It is early days… so I will give enough time for “slight” reporting delays…

FYI: Corona 1105 & RevMob 5.2 was used.

Keep yas posted

Cheers

Richie

I am using Corona build 1105 and Revmob 5.2.1, app is now published, how is the situation?

I am very regret now I chose Corona sdk, this just doesn’t work, no chartboost, revmob not work, no body know the situation…

Revmob needs to fix this. Their silence on this matter is not good. I’m using Revmob 5.1.0 and Corona 1095 and getting no installs. Sure, I am upgrading to Revmob 5.2.1 and the latest Corona, but Revmob should continue to support 5.1.0, as it’s only 1 version back.

I’m getting no installs to. I tested on 3 different iOS devices. I’am using 1108 Corona SDK and 5.2.1 RevMob SDK. I even created new AppID in Dashboard - no success. And there is a bug with showing ADS. If i click on the Ad, it goes to App Store and show app. I download and install it. And then i click on Ad again and it sends me to same exact app that i just downloaded. Not good. And Android - 0.02 per install - you must be kidding? If they wont fix this as soon as possible, i’ll switch to iAds - just tired of all this buggy stuff.

this is not a bug, this is effect of their massive short term campaign, all ads show same app for short period of time. That is why they can pay more (or they were able to pay more in the past)

of course this is not corona fault for this (late update), because revmob SDK for corona was a huge mess from beginning.

waiting for chartboost plugin anyway, dont want to waste more time with this bugged SDK unless revmob will be fixed faster.

Totally agree

Hi,

I have been reading this thread with great interest as you may imagine. I am still in Revmob 5.0 and corona#991 and I am getting installs so far. I am hoping to upgrade soon but I decided to wait until the issue is resolved. Hopefully soon. I have couple suggestions that could help (obviously the current install issue has to be resolved first):

1- what about adding a timestamp (day/time) to each install? That way you can tell if the install are delayed or not.

2- please add a revmob version number to each released sdk. I know it is easy for us to just a comment on top of each new sdk but I think it will be easier for Revmob to simply add a comment at the top of released sdk. That way we can later see what sdk is used. After updating my app couple times, it is hard to remenber which Revmob I am currently using.

Thanks.

Mo

Hi Everyone,

During the last month many of you experienced low eCPMs due to problems in the install tracking and we failed to deliver support and explanation for such problems in a timely manner.

Unfortunately on every other platform that RevMob offers support for monetization we had time to prepare for a non-UDID tracking transitioning from UDID to MAC address to finally IDFA. With Corona we never had access to the MAC address and had to jump straight to IDFA and this caused major problems tracking installs. Since Monday we are capable to track all installs using only the IDFA so we strongly suggest that all our Publishers using Corona updates to a Build above 1095 and SDKs of version 5.2.0 or newer.

After performing a root cause analysis, we can safely say that if Corona allowed access to all the identifiers from the start, none of this would have happened and all of us would have had a higher revenue. The best we can do in the future is to make sure Corona is a transparent engine that gives developers access to all the relevant data points. In other words, thanks to Corona’s decision to block access to and hash crucial device identifiers, we are all paying the price.

Sincerely,

RevMob Team

Thanks to Revmob team, Corona is not a good sdk, I won’t develop new app by Corona anymore… :frowning:

Hey Jan (and everyone else on the thread here),

I’d like to clear something up here. This is the first time I hear from RevMob about any issue they have had with Corona and the identifiers we provide. I know for a fact that no one on the team has heard about this either. As you all know, we have been very clear about what identifiers we provide and which ones we have deprecated - and it has all been driven by changes in the industry and decisions by Apple. These have not been arbitrary decisions by Corona Labs.

In fact, I don’t think any Corona developers, nor any of our *actual* monetization partners, have had any issues with this.

Furthermore, the last changes we did around this happened weeks ago.

So, Jan, I would please request that in the future, when you think you are having problems caused by Corona, you email me and I’ll see if I can help. But blaming your problems on us is not fair at all.

Again, I’m happy to help. Just be sure to contact us next time if you have questions.

Thanks,

David

@DavidRangel

I am absolutely not pleased with your answer, for multiple reasons:

This is the first time I hear from RevMob about any issue they have had with Corona and the identifiers we provide. I know for a fact that no one on the team has heard about this either.

Are you really arguing that you did NOT investigate this issue because you did NOT hear from the RevMob guys personally that there is a problem? So hundreds of corona users having problems with RevMob is NOT enough for you to contact RevMob and seek out a solution? You wait until RevMob contacts YOU?

As you all know, we have been very clear about what identifiers we provide and which ones we have deprecated - and it has all been driven by changes in the industry and decisions by Apple. These have not been arbitrary decisions by Corona Labs.

 How come all the other platforms (like Jan mentioned) offered information about the MAC address and made the RevMob transition possible? The argument that you do what “Apple and the industry” decide does not help anything if the result is that it is of no use for you users. Making “arbitrary” decisions can be more sensible at times, so please don’t try to hide behind “apple and the industry”.

In fact, I don’t think any Corona developers, nor any of our *actual* monetization partners, have had any issues with this.

The corona community has been desparately asking for MORE monetization options for YEARS now. I understand that you have different priorities than your users. So now the RevMob guys take the time to create a 3rd party lib for Corona, giving YOUR users what they originally wanted from YOU, and now you tell them that they are not an *actual* monetization partner and therefore do not deserve your attention? This is unbelievable.

QUOTE: Furthermore, the last changes we did around this happened weeks ago.

It seems like you did not really understand what was the problem from a technical point of view. The problem was NOT that you did not provide the IDFA, but that you did NOT provide the MAC address.

The problems with the RevMob integration have been around for a very long time, and I just cant understand why the two of you (corona and revmob) did not work together to sort it all out. Everyone is trying to put the blame on the other side.

It also took ages until the iAd integration was done (I wrote a dozen emails to both corona AND inneractive). It felt like corona and inneractive never really got contact to work together.

People want to make money with their apps, so they need monetization options more than a new, faster rendering engine or 2.5D. I feel like corona is making the wrong decisions on what to focus, and it gets worse day by day. The unique selling point  in my opinion of corona was and is still the ease of use. You should try to build up on THAT feature and make monetization as easy as loading images or playing sounds, instead of trying to get anywhere close to Unity when it comes to graphical capabilities.

Hi

 I have update the iOS apps with SDK 5.2.0  with new daily build .
It seems a little better then SDK 5.1.0. and I did a test find that my ipad show the apps I have installed via Revmob before.
Until I update and open the game . It will not show up in next time.  But this really bother user.
 As @jan say that previously installed and deleted games will not be counted as downloads.I think this is main reason.
They can not identify which apps user have been install in this device before.
 I just have suggestion . Is possible show the new campaigns app (after 5/1)  for Corona first . I think this can reduce the chance of installed app show up again.
  Just hope iOS income of Revmob can return before (This month only less half of early 4 months average).

@LairdGames , Revmob have version inside revmob.lua , it is easy to find via “version”  or you can see the version in corona console when you run every time.
