When Is Revmob Sdk For Corona Going To Support The Latest Build

@doubleslashdesign If you don’t see any clicks, then it might be something else. I have apps with both old sdk (using UDID) and new one. And both show the impressions and clicks.

The only problem is with the newer one that doesn’t record the installs. I emailed the guys, and they told me they fixed the problem in the first day this thread was created. Then I pointed them to the last page where everyone of us confirms there’s a problem.

They said they will look into it. I have a new game waiting for review using their latest sdk, so I hope they will fix the problem sever-side soon.

@rebelwax I noticed some weird results too lately. The install rate went from 1% to 7-10% (as it should be).

I also have this concern.

Do you have any idea? Back to old version?

Today is also pretty strange …  22 installed only  7 iOS 15 android …  $ 5.79

Never see this before.

the new version behave also have some difference (EX. my devices have no new app to install , but they still give me Ads . Change the old version, it will not give me Ads )

Bad news, I am not sure should I submit update to app store now…

When can we get s stable version?

Thanks.

I posted the question to the RevMob team and their answer was:

"We are facing a few delays on install reporting from advertisers.

Those installs are never lost so you should not worry about it."

Hey all, I was away the past couple of days… wasnt able to test but was keeping updated with the forum. I got same response from RevMob last week… ie. “delay on installs reporting from advertisers” and my installs for the previous days magically appeared.

I have tried to contact one of the guys since then with no success… I pointed them to this forum and told them they need to post a response. Nothing yet it seems! I did an install on the 27th… hasnt shown up yet. Im not doing loads of installs, I shouldnt have to in my opinion… an install should show up, end of!

I dont like the sound of " reporting from advertisers"… does this mean they have no way of tracking installs inhouse? Whats does it actually mean!? I am very dissappointed with the radio silence from RevMob.

They seem to miss the point that alot of us are monetizing our apps through this type of advertising… and its extremely important that it works from the day we launch.

Its just not acceptable for install reporting to be delayed by 6 days! OR lost completely. And it messes up the stats for us too when looking at the efffect of small changes in strategy… if one day we get 2 installs an then get a report of 100… but they have not correlation with the days they were actually installed.

I am one unhappy customer now! 3 emails direct to a member of the RevMob team… no reponse at all… nothing… the last one asking for just any sort of “response” to let me know they are at least working on it… instead of saying “its all ok, just a delay on reporting” … that to me is something that is broken and needs fixing… whether it be a technical fix or a pipeline issue.

tut tut tut… not good!

Richie

I update the new sdk and approve by Apple…

But something seems not good that …

in iOS almost no installs after 5/1  ?

I can say this case is not usual .

is Anyone have the same case ??

My installs dramatically dropped off on May 1st. Didn’t update or change anything. What gives? Did they change something server side?

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jan and I work for RevMob.

First of all, in the name of the RevMob team, I would like to apologize for the installs report delay.

This is as problem affecting only Corona due to their limitations and it also frustrates us but Corona is the only engine not sending Apple’s IDFA which would be used to track installs. Without this tracking option a few advertisers are still adapting to non UDID tracking and this is causing the delays. All those installs are recorded and none of them were lost.

Thanks,

Jan

RevMob

Corona is showing further details now:

http://www.coronalabs.com/blog/2013/04/30/new-system-info-properties/

Does that not relate to this?

If corona release this more early.

Maybe it would not cause this issue.

But I do think RevMob can use this right now.

Because the corona starter could not use this new function .

So It is not a good time for RevMob use this API right now

@Segaboy you are correct , the latest build available only for pro users solves this issue.

Bear in mind they released it two days before Apple’s deadline which did not gave us much time.

Thanks,

Jan

Thanks for the response and info Jan. The lack of response over the past few days was causing concern.

Is the a particular version of Corona we should use with RevMob 5.1?

Thks
Richie

Maybe adding a new box showing “missed installs” from previous days would help a little rather just adding to current date. That way you will not have to wonder if the extra installs are today’s installs or previous days install. Not sure if Revmob can automatize this but I think it will help. Not really sure how Revmob adds those “missing” installs after the fact. Manually?

Just my 99 cents!

Mo

missed and paid later OR lost forever due to SDK bug ? this is a difference

my 2 cents

Tom

Notice there is a new version of RevMob… 5.2 available now… which uses the new system info available… but ya need to use Corona 1095… and these properties are only available in IOS6? Is that correct?

So question is… What happens if we use Corona 1095… and RevMob 5.2… and the app runs on a device with IOS 5? Seem you are checking the Corona build version and then going with the system.getInfo(“iosAdvertisingIdentifier”) option… which is only suported on IOS 6.

Jan, can you give us some clarity on this…

thks

Richie

Jan :

I also like to know is necessary to update to SDK 5.2.0

Becuase after I update the 5.1.0 to app store and release .

The iOS installs drop.  The data of iOS on dashboard is really disaster.

If update 5.2.0 can improve this, I will do it right now .

Br

@richard770  I strongly advise you to update your app with SDK 5.2 and Corona 1095. On iOS 5 the IDFA won’t be collected and only the MAC address will be used for tracking which can cause delays on installs.

@LairdGames  Thanks for the suggestion, our team is already working on new ways to improve our transparency which I agree is lacking right now.

@Bladko  Only missed and paid later. What happens is that once the delays start the advertiser usually pause his campaigns affecting our eCPM. Since he is a large advertiser the drop is easily noticed and publishers can get the false impression installs were lost.

@codingcake   The update will definitely improve it.

Thanks,

Jan

RevMob

Just re-submitted with 5.2 and 1095. Fingers crossed I guess.

i have test on fresh device

5.2 + 1095 works, impressions / clicks are shown real time, installs in few minutes delay. Only 2-5 cents installs today (pay per click ?)

I wonder about other thing. 70% of all clicks i see [RevMob] The method RevMob.startSession(REVMOB_IDS) has not been called, usually after resume / suspend OR when i click on and ad unit during this particular app session. Never have seen this before. No changes in ad code only update to 5.2.

Thanks for the updates guys… Gonna be going with 1095 & 5.2 tomoro. Will post my results/findings.
Hoping to bite the bullet & submit a build on Mon… All going well.
Cheers
Richie
