When? Ohhh.. when is v4 ready for prime time?

When do you plan to have v4 ready, so we can start changing code and make new builds? When will documentation be updated? When will sample code be updated?

Here is a quote from your documentation:

Because Facebook deprecates versions of their Graph API approximately every two years, the original facebook plugin will no longer function once Graph API v2.1 is deprecated. Thus, on October 30, 2016, migrating to the facebook-v4 plugin will be required.

So when will this get priority? With 1,7 billion users, it’s a great login system.

First, Facebook is removing support for Graph API 2.0 on Oct 30, 2016. The legacy FB plugin is Graph API 2.1, so you should be good.

V4 with the exception of some edge cases for what we currently have support in the plugin seems to be working. We have an engineer who’s actively looking into getting this out of “Beta” as we speak. We want this fixed as much as you do.

Hi dbh,

The Facebook-v4 (now known as simply “Facebook”) plugin is now out of beta:

https://coronalabs.com/blog/2016/10/28/facebook-plugin-update-we-are-out-of-beta/

And with that we’ve made several revisions to the documentation:

Facebook plugin docs: https://docs.coronalabs.com/plugin/facebook-v4/index.html

Implementation Guide updated to use the new Facebook plugin: https://docs.coronalabs.com/guide/social/usingFacebook/index.html

As far as the Sample Code goes, it was originally updated to use the Facebook-v4 plugin around the time the beta version was available for both iOS and Android. On August 18th, it was given a new coat of paint, and has gotten occasional updates and fixes since then:
