Welcome to inneractive

Ok, so far I’ve discovered that my problem with the x,y not being set correctly stemmed from using the appID for my iPhone profile. When I switched it back to using the iPad profile, everything worked.

But that’s neither here nor there since I can’t get iPhone sized banners to show up in an iPad app

EDIT: Well, scratch that. Positioning the banners seems to work now, no matter which appID I use. I didn’t change any code though, it just started working I guess. So… there’s that. [import]uid: 120 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 79785[/import]

Frustrating…still no ads…
Is Inneractive open/accessible for Test Drivers or only for paying subscribers of Corona? [import]uid: 32063 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 79794[/import]

@Luciane,

There is NO test flag for the Inneractive ad system. The test flag is used for AdMob.

Can you make a small test app that calls the ad system and post it? You can remove your actual Inneractive App name from the code and put in the dummy names we have been using in the example.

Then I will take your small sample and test it here with my Inneractive App ID. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 79819[/import]

Problem solved. Thank you all who tried to help.
I knew it would be something silly in the end. The computer used to do the build had not been upgraded to the version of Corona that supports inneractive. [import]uid: 32063 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 79857[/import]

@Orly,

We haven’t heard from you in a few days on the forums. Hope all is well.

Any chance we can get the full screen issue resolved? I’d like to ship an ad supported version of my game, but don’t want to do so until this issue is resolved.

Question for folks using Inneractive and/or switched from inMobi.

We switched over to Inneractive because we have not been happy with the fill rates and the payment dates are all over the map. I’ve had to e-mail about each payment for one reason or another. So we switched.

Our inMobi revenue with the bad fill rates is killing the Inneractive revenue. We have the ads setup the same was we did on inMobi. I am talking 6 times more a day on inMobi through the week and more on weekends.

Our app gets anywhere from 400-1000 downloads a day, not counting spikes here and there, and with inMobi I could closely predict the downloads based on the money it made on inMobi for the day. With Inneractive we are maintaining those download numbers, but only bringing in $6-$8 a day. In fact even with the new version being out for about a week and all the 1000s of updates to the new version this is all it is making. As of now inMobi is still bringing in more money with its bad fill rates and drastically reduced footprint.

I guess my question is does Inneractive not hit markets that inMobi does? Something is not adding up. I am only getting like 8000 requests on Inneractive and on day 1 there was more copies of the new version of the game out than what I got in ad requests.

Anyone else experiencing this? I am giving it until the end of the month to see if something gets better, but right now it is costing us a nice chunk of money everyday. Going from an average of $350 a week down to about $50 a week on Inneractive.

Thanks for any info. or help you can provide.

@ggindlesperger,

This is good, useful, real world data! Given this info and the fact that we cannot get a reliable full screen Inneractive ad working from Ansca/Inneractive it really isn’t going to make sense for us to use Inneractive either.

As much as people complain about iAd only being for iOS devices, Ansca should really consider implementing support for iAd as it DOES generate a lot of revenue on iOS devices.

Thanks for sharing your experience. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80049[/import]

My experience is just the opposite. I was making zilch with inMobi, perhaps less than zilch. Inneractive is 20X better than inMobi (though 20 x zilch isn’t anything to brag about!).
But you delver more games in a day than I have total and the ads for me are sitting in two older shelf life games.

Once I figure out gamecenter, I’ll put one of the two games back out moving from in-game banners to in-between level full screen ads and I suspect that may kill me even though I’ll get better click rates.

Some things to add about my switchover to Inneractive.

I do like that Inneractive has far more pay options. I am hoping their pay schedule is a little more stable, but have not been on long enough to receive a payment.

My daily revenue has increased every day on Inneractive. Inmobi is still bringing in more, but I attribute that to the Inneractive version taking time to propagate through the update.

It is looking like my problem is more or less underestimating my Hairy Legs game. To me it is a game you download, play a few times, and then over the course of time picking it up and playing it every now and then. As of today, Jan 14, it is still making over $30 on Inmobi and that is with the update having been out a week, so people must still be playing the older version more than I would have expected. On a normal Sat and Sunday it gets 800-1200 downloads and makes $50-$60, so that number is cut in half since the Inneractive version is out, but I guess it may just take time for the Innteractive version to get to the people that play it.

I am giving it some time to see if this is the case. I was just a bit shell shocked at first to see such low revenue when I was expecting more right out of the gate. As long as it keep going up everyday I am hoping it gets to the revenue Inmobi was at or exceeds it. [import]uid: 8533 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80090[/import]

Hi all, I was wondering if anybody knew how to align the inneractive banner ad to the bottom rather than the top.

I have a banner ad positioned above the kindle menu bar but since the height of the banner varies, sometimes there is a gap between the banner and the menu bar.

Thanks,

Hey guys,

I have a simple question:

I do not own any Android device but Ive just registered as an Android Developer and so I am going to build my apps that are at App Store to go run at Android Market also. So my problem/question is: I want to use inneractives ads as my network for Android apps as Ive done with the iOS ones BUT **how can I know where will the Ads show on Android devices if the Corona Simulator isnt able to show Ads? Even a placeholder for it.** (BTW it would be a very good idea to have).

Can someone help-me out?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80265[/import]

It seems that the inneractive ads are broken on Android as far as position is concerned.

For example, if you are in landscape mode and want the ads at 0,0 they will display correctly on iOS, but you be given a black bar across the entire screen with the ad centred on the black bar on Android.

I mentioned this in an earlier post and have sent an email to inneractive last week, but there has been no response to either. I will do a bug report later when I get a chance, but I am not sure how this could be missed, so I can only assume this is intended behaviour, in which case it is a poor implementation for consistency reasons and from an aesthetics point of view.

The x and y coordinates of the add don’t seem to correlate with the actual screen and x and y coordinates, so it makes it difficult to use placeholders. Hopefully this can be fixed. It seems like the scaling of the content of the ads is generally problematic. [import]uid: 10903 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80268[/import]

@ Rodrigo

This is not the answer you want to hear, but I would not release something without being able to test it on an Android device. I know you can not test on all the various Android devices, but try to pickup an old Motorola Droid or something. Should be able to get something for $50.00 or less. Very much worth it to not release something and have no idea what it will look like on a device.

You do not want to get off to a bad start on Android and get bad reviews. Android is tough enough to make money, you do not need reviews working against you.

Just my thoughts on it,

Take Care,
Gary [import]uid: 8533 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80269[/import]

SO guys, isn`t there ANY solution? Will I be unable to build my app for Android without have a device using inneractive or any other network as well?

PS: My iOS apps using inneractive are in app store already. That said I ask you: If I know where will be showing my ads on iOS devices as iPhone (portrait side) for example and so I put into my developing app one placeholder there (where I know the Ads display exactly when the app is on device, not simulator) and so in simulator I go to show it on Android devices skins as Droid, my touch, etc…SO, if on these Android skins I be able to see that placeholder I`ve inserted before as I said above, would I believe that the Ads will be show over that placeholer nicely too? o.O
Developers, please, I need your help!

Thank you,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80271[/import]

Hi @Gary , mate, I REALLY APPRECIATE your thoughts about it. Unfortunatelly for sure it`s not a good answer for my case now, BUT, is a frindly answer as a developer point of view.

BTW, Gary, would you read my post right below this one? I`ve wrote almost together you and so I did not see this answer of yours before post mine again.

PS: If I buy one Android, which one chipest would be this? and how do I know if it will work with Corona just asking the “stupid” vendor? :\
Thank you Gary,

Peace,
Rodrigo.

@RSCdev,

Although not as good owning a device to test on, another solution is to find a developer or two who have devices to test on. Then make a debug APK file and share it with them via Drop Box.

Drop box is free, and it is probably the easiest method of installing APK files on other peoples devices.

Hope that helps. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80273[/import]

Hey Ken I`ve thought about that few minutes ago to be honest with you as I am here (in front of this forum) THINKING about ONE safety way to get my app running on Android Market!

So, one thing that I know is that I do not have ANYONE here, close to me, or whom am confident also to be “offering” my app for. So it is a difficult part to get.

2, is that honestly I am really out of money right now and this month is being very “hard” to support btw, SO even the $50 USD is not easy to be spending (even because I am living in Argentina, and so here, the techonology things are not as cheaper as you guys from US, UK, etc are able to get there), here the things get much more expensive. :\
3. As I said, I just registered for Android Dev, and so the things, steps about this is not very clear for me, and I would like to ask you if this “debug” apk you mentioned is any safety to share with someone without getting risk of this person “steal” your project and build for him?

Sorry for all of these questions, but with answer it can HELP a LOT!

Thank you!

Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80275[/import]

With a APK file I they would have access to your assets. However, they would not have the compiled code, so it isn’t like they would get the lua files.

However, your safest bet is to buy yourself an Android device. Otherwise, you will have to find someone you trust.

I think I saw a post on the forums a while back where Ansca offered to test something on a device the developer didn’t own. IF they are willing to do this it would only be an option for paid developers, but since you’ve released your app on the iPhone that shouldn’t be an issue. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80277[/import]

@Rodrigo - You don’t necessarily need to provide the full app for testing. You could simple include the relevant code you want tested. In this case the ad code. This should put any fear of loss to rest.
