Welcome to inneractive

@Ken

I really appreciate your insights for sure. And you`re right about the fafest way to do it also.

BTW, I`ve never heard about Ansca Team doing it but if was for real sure it would be great. :slight_smile:
PS: Ken, I would like to ask you:

Would you ā€œtestā€ my app under Android device if you do own anyone? Yes, surely with this ask I do fall into that subject again (confidence) BUT you`re a Corona paid subscriber and also have been helping the community here many times. SO, would I be confident in you to test my Android builds? BTW I do not want to get any ā€œdisturbingā€ momment for you too.
Thank you,

Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80280[/import]

Aha! @BenM Do you believe that the ā€œdumbā€ man here haven`t thought abouth that!? o.O

Thank You for posting this nice ā€œshotā€. :slight_smile:
Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80281[/import]

@Rodrigo

Now thatā€™s just funny. :slight_smile:

Advice is offered with the best intentions as Iā€™m sure everyone does. Not sure it is well received always though. Thanks for that.

Ben [import]uid: 28534 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80283[/import]

shit just got real [import]uid: 120 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80286[/import]

@Rodrigo,

BenM makes a good point. You can make a minimal app with your ad logic and provide that for testing without having to provide anyone any assets. I donā€™t think BenM meant anything mean spirited by the comment, he was honestly trying to help.

On at least one occasion I found and fixed a bug that had been driving me crazy by writing a minimal app that demonstrated the problem I was having. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80287[/import]

Hey @Ben, I do not know if you understood me very well, but, as I dislike ā€œdoubtsā€ I repeat for you that: I really did appreciated your worth advice! Yes, it`s a simple one but is one that we forget easily and make a HUGE difference! :slight_smile:

Thank you again.

Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80288[/import]

Hey @Ken, do not worry about @Ben! :slight_smile:

I wasnt meaning anything than a BIG THANKS for sure and Ive really appreciated his input here!

Now, back to the Android apk issue, I want to say you to that I am very pleased of your offer and I did not want to mean any momment that I would think something ā€œbadā€ about you as well. :slight_smile:

SO, THANK YOU FOR THE OFFER! I will get that! I only need to create a dropbox account (if I do not have already) and after that build the apk using the debug key that Corona offer us already, right?

If all are right, thats nice but I would like to say that I cannot "finish" this proccess right now as its very late already here (01:20h) and tomorrow is a work day. So, by tomorrow I finish setup the apk for Android, get the right build.setting file and after build with the debug key I`ll send it to Dropbox and e-mail you @Ken about it. So when you get time to take it, go ahead! :slight_smile:

One more time, Thank You @ken, @Ben and all Corona Devs.

Cheers,
Rodrigo.

PS: @Ken, my personal mail is: rodrigo[at]rscdev[dot]net - Feel FREE to get in touch with me by there as I read it ALL the day! :slight_smile:

@Rodrigo, No Problem.

Ben [import]uid: 28534 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80290[/import]

RSCdev is right!
While implementing inneractive SDK there is NO need to use the following parameter testMode=true/false. We donā€™t have this parameter at all in the integration.

The X and Y values should be numbers and not strings.

Hey Ben and dirtyBit,

Regarding the black bars question - we work according to the MMA guidelines which are international standards for banner sizes. The ad-networks are 3rd party providers and we present the ads as we receive them (sometimes with the black bars). [import]uid: 109623 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80343[/import]

@KenRogoway, this is in reply to your post on 1/12 where you list your App IDs.

I believe that Inneractive wants you to have an iPod and iPhone appIDā€™s. Iā€™m not sure how you got an id that ends in iOS. I also donā€™t have an option for KindleFireā€¦

How did you get those? It would be nice to just have an iOS option instead of having to have both iPad and iPhone appIDā€™s. [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80368[/import]

@robmiracle,

I have one for iPhone and one for iPad. Sorry if the post was confusing. I was just trying to give a quick answer via my iPhone and got lazy.

[import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80401[/import]

@Orly,

I am very familiar with the MMA guidelines. However, since you just serve up the ads you get they do not always conform to those guidelines.

This is a problem because most apps reserve a space for the ad. If the ad is too large this makes our apps look bad and amateurish.

Since Ansca does not provide us with the ad size we have no way of properly centering these ads when they are not conform to the MMA guidelines.

Ansca , if you are reading these posts, PLEASE return the ad size when we call ads.show(). This would allow us to properly center the ads and help our apps look more professional. This should be a trivial change for you to make. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80405[/import]

Hi Orly,

Perhaps I have not been clear enough.

This is not a matter of ā€œsometimesā€ receiving a black bar in Landscape mode on Android as you have alluded to. This happens every single time an ad is displayed on Android and yes, even with your own Inneractive promotion ads, which clearly have not come from a 3rd party network.

So it really is a problem that must be looked at. Test it yourself and you will see this to be the case.

Note: This same code does not have the problem on iOS.

Regards,
Ben [import]uid: 28534 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80735[/import]

I have now logged this Black Bar problem on Android as a bug with Ansca case #11605. Hopefully it will be fixed quickly.

Ben [import]uid: 28534 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80748[/import]

Ohh NO! One more problem between Inneractive & Android? o.O

WOW, it`s getting hard to cross my iOS app dor Androidā€¦OMG.
:frowning: [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80758[/import]

If I remember correctly, you were running in Portrait mode. It is not such a problem in Portrait mode, in fact you have to look very closely to see it, so it should be ok for your app.

In landscape mode it is a big problem and needs to be fixed.

Ben [import]uid: 28534 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80759[/import]

@Ben - THANK YOU for telling me this! Yes, my app is portrait side. Wow, ā€œless so badā€ now. :slight_smile:

PS: BTW sorry to hear youre not getting what you want to. Lets wait @Orly`s input.
Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80760[/import]

@Rodrigo,

I would be glad to help out and test your app. I have been developing games since 1983 (on the Commodore 64 and Vic 20 back then) and a simple Google search will show all of the games and credits I have.

The reason I mention this is the LAST thing I would want is to have anyone think I stole anything, so there is no way I would reverse engineer any package that a developer sent me to test. My reputation is too important.

I have a HTC Inspire and a Kindle Fire that I can use to test your app with.

If you use DropBox you can create a folder, put your APK in it, then share it with me via my email. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 19981 reply_id: 80285[/import]
